Broke, almost homeless, and recently fired. Those are my official reasons for answering a wanted ad for a skeevy-looking bartender gig.

It went downhill the moment they asked me to do a trial shift instead of an interviewβ€”to see if I'd mesh with their "special" clientele. I think that part went great. Their customers were complete dickheads, and I was an asshole right back. That's the definition of fitting in, right?

I expected to get thrown out on my ass. Instead, they…offered me the job?

It turns out this place isn't a bar. It's a guild. And the three cocky guys I drenched with a margarita during my trial? Yeah, they were mages. Either I'm exactly the kind of takes-no-shit bartender this guild needs, or there's a good reason no one else wants to work here.

So what's a broke girl to do? Take the job, of courseβ€”with a pay raise.

--Note: The three mages are definitely sexy, but this series isn't a reverse harem. It's 100% fun, sassy, fast-paced urban fantasy.

Three Mages and a Margarita is entertaining, funny and mythical (ha. ha. pun intended)

There are books you can tell you’ll love or hate right away from the synopsis right away, and ones you can’t tell until you actually read the book. I LOVED Three Mages and a Margarita and can’t wait for the sequel to come out so I can go back to the Mythic world.

Tori is funny and sassy

Tori Dawson, the Server of Doom and Despair.

Our main character Tori takes no bullshit – literally! She gets fired from all her jobs because she doesn’t take crap from her guests. While Tori’s actions in Three Mages and a Margarita are an exaggeration, it was funny and entertaining to read. I think the last time I laughed was American Panda by Gloria Chao.

The friendship is genuine, golden and #goals.

“If you want pizza with pineapple on it, we’ll have throw you out.”

I blinked, not entirely sure if he was joking, but Aaron laughed. “If she wants pineable, she can have it. You don’t have to eat it.”

“Its existence alone is an insult to all pizza.”

The friendship between the three mages Tori meets is genuine, and I loved seeing the interactions between Aaron, Kai and Ezra. They’re a close group but are also welcoming to Tori despite the rough beginning.

Fast-paced and full of action

I got through Three Mages and a Margarita in less than two days. Annette Marie’s latest novel is full of humor, but it is also fast-paced and full of action. Whether the book will make you laugh out loud or worry over the characters, there is never a dull moment.

Hannah has a penchant for chaos, which is probably how she ended up blogging since 2012. That, and she was probably too expressive for her parents to handle, so it had to go somewhere. 1. I love books with sassy characters! I also LOVE pineapple on pizza, haha. I really enjoyed that snippet from the book. I don’t know if this is something I would have picked up on my own, so I’m glad you shared your thoughts. It’s definitely being added to the list.

    1. I’m not sure I would have come across Three Mages and a Margarita either another way (maybe years down the road in the long future), haha. I’m glad the book has caught your attention and I hope you’ll enjoy it as much as I have! Looking forward to your thoughts when you read it. πŸ˜€
