I’M FEELING 22! I’m not even a huge Taylor Swift fan. But I don’t know, it feels customary to say you feel as such when you’re 22 even if you still feel very much 21? 🤷♀️

Either way, I’m going to be waddling to classes (when I wake up after hitting snooze a few times) and finishing up my liter of ice cream (look, it’s hot) before drowning in assignments (Tuesdays are the worst days for me).
In reality, I want to drown in a good book all day, but I already did that yesterday for an assignment* after getting stuffed with stuffed buns. I didn’t turn into a stuffed bun, though.
*Most of my posts are up at midnight Eastern Time and I waited until morning to post this because I couldn’t do anything that has a screen for 24 HOURS. I cry a little. (Won’t complain about that reading time, though. When else will I get a flipping 12+ hours of pure reading bliss?)
But if I’m going to do any post, and I do mean any, other than abandon posting on my birthday, it’s going to be about a book from one of my favorite series.
Why would anyone talk about a book they don’t like on their birthday anyway?
Friends, I’m extremely excited to help reveal the cover for Parting Worlds by Kaitlyn Davis, the fourth book in her Once Upon a Curse series! (Organized by YA Bound Book Tours, in which I completely forgot for the cover reveal of Chasing Midnight in my excitement why am I like this.) And fortunately for all of us already sucked into the series from the beginning, it’s coming THIS! NOVEMBER! 😱
Unfortunately for us, it’s the last book in the series. How could you. 😥
Parting Worlds is a retelling of The Little Mermaid.
“But really, what’s the book about?”
**A USA Today Recommended Series!**
She’ll risk it all to be with the man she lovesβ¦ Don’t miss PARTING WORLDS, a fantasy romance from bestselling author Kaitlyn Davis that reimagines the classic fairy tale of The Little Mermaid.
“I know humans like to start these sorts of stories with ‘once upon a time,’ but I’m worried that’s setting the stage for false hopes. Because we don’t all live, and we aren’t all happy. Not every curse can be broken, after all.”
Humans are dangerous. That’s the lesson faeries are taught as soon as their flower petals unfurl, welcoming them into the world. It’s the first thing Aerewyn remembers the priestesses telling her as a young girl. Humans are dangerousβdon’t show them your magic and never cross into their lands.
So why then, when she stumbles upon a human boy in the woods, does she find him so intriguing?
His blue eyes don’t shine with malice. His smile doesn’t menace. His laughter is as warm as the sun against her cheeks. And when she later discovers he’s been knocked unconscious in a storm, injured and alone in the forest, the only thing he seems in danger of is dying.
So she saves his lifeβa single act that will change the fate of both their worlds.
*This is the fourth book in Once Upon a Curse, a series of interconnected stand-alone novels all set in the same fantasy universe.
Are you ready for the eye-catching cover?
No, but really. Are you?
Are youuuuuu?

Okay, not in the “let’s go kick some serious butt” ready. One should always be ready in case we’re suddenly a demigod, though.
Clink the glasses in celebration, here’s the cover for Parting Worlds!

The fourth and final book of the Once Upon a Curse series launches into the world this November!
Make your wallet cry and pre-order this gem with an affiliate link from Amazon, which means I get a small commission at no additional to you. Or you can help support Left Bank Books, a local indie bookstore in my area, with copies of Gathering Frost, Withering Rose and Chasing Midnight. And if you’re in an unfortunate book ban, adding the book to your growing TBR on Goodreads also helps!
(Wow, that was some serious self-promo there.)
Let’s talk!
Tell me your thoughts about the cover? Would you rather be the rock or the ocean?

Hannah has a penchant for chaos, which is probably how she ended up blogging since 2012. That, and she was probably too expressive for her parents to handle, so it had to go somewhere. She can be found occasionally at The Arts STL. If youβd like to fuel her boba addiction or just enjoy her posts and want to support her, stop by her KoFi or Buy Me a Coffee!
Great colours, and the seashell is such a nice touch.
…Oh, wait. Someone was having a birthday.
I mean…
*screams* HAPPY BIRTHDAY SOPHIA!!!!! β¨
(22. Where did my baby go. Le sigh).
Uh. I posted a string of FIVE emojis and can only see the last one?
I’ll always be a smol child compared to you LOL. I can’t figure out for the life of me why the emojis are being weird (there’s no option in the newer versions of WordPress, boo).
Happy birthday!
And lol, I don’t feel 17 either but I’ll hopefully feel 17 by the time I turn 18? Maybe not though.
And omg, that cover is so pretty!
Hopefully! I usually feel my age by the time the next one rolls around. Hope you had a fantastic birthday, birthday buddy! <3
THE DRESS!!! I now need to live in this book universe and own that dress. Such a pretty cover!!
!!!Β No, please don’t live in the book unless you take me with you! (Actually, I’d hate for you to die an unfortunate death; we’ll find you a similar dress another way so you can live your best mermaid life.)
